Park up: Cannes

The best thing about Cannes was the excellent laundrette. Despite debatable reviews I’ve used the Revolution laundry set ups before and I’m a total fan.

Laundrette in front of supermarket car park Cannes

I pulled into a busy main road in Cannes but it was totally unsuitable to stay the night. I left the van while I had a look around some side streets opposite and checked out one just round the corner, quiet and next to some random wall so not disturbing any residents. After some difficulty with one way roads I found a good spot, reversed it in grabbed my bag and ran to catch a bus to the famous boulevard. The bus journey, like the drive I took along the sea front, was interesting with the sea looking beautiful but Cannes itself was a bit flashy for me. Even off season it was about being seen, it was surface glamour without soul. That said, I had a good sleep and literally had to go around the corner in the morning to do my laundry. This was helpfully placed in a supermarket car park so I grabbed some supplies while waiting for the washing and had a clean out of the van, dumped my rubbish and went on my way.
