Considered to be the best preserved medieval town in the Mediterranean, the old town of Kotor is magnificent. Wandering around the well-preserved medieval architecture, still full of churches, palaces and details from the past as well as modern life with cafe’s and souvenir shops is enough in itself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Above the old town stands the impressive St John’s fortress, the oldest parts dating from the 9th century. With its 1350 steps going up it takes some time to get to the most incredible views of the Bay of Kotor. I thought I’d let Kotor’s beauty speak for itself so this is primarily a picture post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built to protect Kotor town from the invaders the construction of the fortress started in the 9th century and ended in the 15th century. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
